Something to consider when buying coffee

Q. Why organic?
A. Coffee sold to the U.S. is the most pesticide applied crop of any we eat or drink. Many of these pesticides are actually outlawed for use in the U.S.

Q. Why Arabica beans?
A. Arabica beans are the world's highest quality beans and brew the finest tasting coffees. Most coffees in the U.S. contain the robusta bean which is known as the "bitter bean" by worldwide coffee experts.

Q. Where is your coffee grown?
A. We currently have three standard varieties of coffee. As their name implies, these coffees are grown in Sumatra (a region of Indonesia), Colombia, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Mexico, El Salvador, Brazil, Peru and Guatemala. These coffees will come from the best crops we could find on the planet.

Q. How fresh is my coffee?
A. We are constantly roasting just enough coffee for the amount of orders being shipped. This guarantees that your coffee is not sitting around in a warehouse somewhere getting stale. You get the freshest coffee possible delivered right to your door.

Q. Why isn't Tessa's Organic Coffee sold in grocery stores?
A. We are fanatical about freshness (once you have enjoyed Tessa's Organic Coffee, you will be too). Tessa's Organic Coffee doesn't spend weeks in transit, then sit around on supermarket shelves. Instead, our coffee beans are fresh roasted, warm packed and sent directly to you.

Always

Always buy Tessa's Organic Coffee certified organic Arabica coffee beans. Organic coffee beans are pesticide free and grown in rich fertile soil. Arabica beans are the world's finest coffee beans.

Always buy Tessa's Organic Coffee drum-roasted Arabica coffee beans. Although more labor intensive, a Roast Master watches and listens for the perfect moment to stop the roast and begin the process of packaging.

Always buy organic SWP( Swiss Water Processed) decaffeinated coffees - the very best process available and completely chemical free.

Always be sure your coffee is packaged in multi-layer bags with one-way air release valves. This allows the Roast Master to warm pack your Tessa's Organic Coffee Arabica coffee beans directly from the Roaster and ship them to you immediately. (Use our overnight service and your Tessa's Organic Coffee just might arrive to you still warm.)

Never

Never buy NON-ORGANIC pesticide grown coffee. Coffee sold to the U.S. is the most pesticide applied crop of any that we eat or drink. Many of these pesticides are actually outlawed for use in the U.S.!

Never buy coffee roasted using the common fluid bed roasting process. This is a machine roast, which at the end has the hot dry beans cooled by water soaking. This adds water weight and possible mold (which you pay for).

Never drink coffee that has been chemically decaffeinated. The most commonly used chemical is a poisonous industrial solvent!

Never buy vacuum-packed coffee. Vacuum packing requires the coffee to sit, deteriorating for a minimum of five days after roasting before it can be vacuum-packed. This allows the roaster to give you the impression of fresh packaging when they are actually gaining the benefit of huge production runs that that will last for several days.

Never buy coffee roasted overseas. It spends weeks in transit in ship holds that are not climate controlled. Also, never buy bulk coffee in grocery stores as the open air dispensers allow ongoing deterioration until it is sold.
